Charder est la contraction de Charles Schneider (1881-1953), maître-verrier français. En 1898, il commence ses études à Nancy, à Daum, qui est une Compagnie française du cristal Daum. Il a créé, avec son frère Ernest, « Le Verre français » ou « Verreries Schneider », une entreprise fondée en 1913 à Epinay-sur-Seine.
